Rex Keily AM JP, Chair
Committees - Business & Finance (Chair), Marketing & Strategic Planning
Rex Keily and his wife Norma live at Serenity Farm 7km’s out of Strathalbyn where they breed Wiltipoll Sheep and Alpacas. In 2004 Rex retired from a 40 year career at Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors where he held various senior executive positions. He began a new career in real estate in 2008 and is now the Sales Manager of First National Real Estate Pope Nitschke in Strathalbyn. In 2002 he was awarded an AM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for service to automotive industry and to the community, particularly youth, in his capacity as President of the Scout Association SA Branch, Chairman of Woodcroft College and a board member of World Vision Australia. Rex continues to serve the community as Vice Chairman of the Bible Society of SA, a Governor of the Coopers Brewery Foundation and as Chairman of CLASS.
Garry Ashworth
Committees - Business & Finance
Garry joined CLASS in 2010 with a keen interest to contribute to the community. He has a very diverse background in finance, holding a Bachelor in Commerce, and CPA Accreditation, specialising in Financial Services. Garry has owned a small business, worked as a taxation accountant for a number of years and 6 years ago moved into Financial Planning. More recently Garry has joined Merlea Investments as Financial Planner located in Strathalbyn and lives in Victor Harbor with his wife Georgie and two young sons.
Brian East
Committees - Service Improvement (Chair)
Brian has worked in the area of disability for over twenty years and is currently the Executive Manager, Accommodation, Policy and Strategic Development for CARA (Community Accommodation and Respite Agency). Brian has been a Board member of CLASS since 2004 with an interest in quality assurance and accreditation. Brian’s other interests include person centred active support, building organisational cultures of continuous improvement and leadership development.
Pam Gable
Committees - Business & Finance
Pam has worked in the Not for Profit sector for the last 14 years and the last 6 years within the Disability Sector. Pam joined the Board of CLASS in late 2011. Pam has worked with CLASS since 2009 as a Quality Consultant to develop the Quality Managment System and attain SEP Accreditation. Pam in committed to the organisational Mission and Vision and looks forward to putting her energies into furthering the business and strategic goals of CLASS.
Jane Moore
Committees - Service Improvement
Jane’s first qualification was in Social Work. As a Social Worker she was employed by State Government welfare and health departments in positions mostly with a focus on families and children. In particular Jane worked in Mount Gambier providing social work services to families with disabled children. She also co-ordinated a multidisciplinary assessment team to provide early identification of and assistance to children with disabilities. On returning to Adelaide, Jane developed an interest in primary dispute resolution and undertook a Graduate Certificate in Family Mediation. She then established the Mediation service at Centacare which still offers dispute resolution to separating couples and their children. Following that Jane worked as a counsellor and mediator at the Family Court and commenced her Law Degree which she completed with Honours in 2005. In 2008 Jane took over from her husband, Jeremy as principal of Moore Law – a general legal practice based in Strathalbyn and with offices in Victor Harbor and Adelaide. As a social worker and lawyer Jane has a particular commitment to ensuring the rights of all people, especially those who are most vulnerable, are upheld.
Bill Rowe
Committees - Marketing & Strategic Planning (Chair)
Bill Rowe joined the board of CLASS in October 2007. He has a strong connection with the organisation as he has a child with a disability and is keen to ensure there are quality services available to people with disabilities across the region. He is married to Sarah and has lived in Strathalbyn for over 25 years. Bill is an active member of Rotary and enjoys the opportunity to volunteer in the community. Having a diverse business background through work in the flour milling industry, rural merchandise businesses and in the wine industry for Orlando Wines has given Bill the expertise to support the Community with sound strategic vision. Bill’s interests include woodworking, winemaking and family gatherings.
Jonty Whitehead
Committees - Service Improvement
Jonty joined CLASS as a Board Member in 2002. Having gained her General Nursing Certificate and Chiropractic Diploma, Jonty has worked as a Teacher’s Aide, Nurse and Residential Manager at the Rudolf Steiner Initiative for Children and Adults with disabilities in Inala, New South Wales. Having worked with children with a disability and also being a parent of a child with an intellectual disability, Jonty has a strong link with CLASS.
